I paid a debt that wasnt mine

Hi everyone. New here. I need some advice please. I paid my sons debt today because the bailiff served me with a warrant of control goods this morning. My son does not live here! But bailiffs said he didn't care he was coming in. I was terrified. My son even cslled him abd told him he doesn't live here. Nothings his. Due to me having 2 young boys here abd suffering anxiety disorder. I borrowed money to pay due to fear. My question is did i need to pay and is there any way to stop them harrasing me in the future?
