Distress Warrant Cheshire Magistrates

Post by OnAMission »

Hi Guys

Have an interesting story that I will share over the weekend but would really like some input ref a Magistrates Distress warrant issued to marstons end of last year for a DVLA fine.

I am under the opinion that in 2014 when the new regulations came to power Distress Warrants were replaced by Warrants of Control. If someone would be kind enough to confirm this for me I would be grateful.

Also do Marstons employees work in a courts fines office ?

Yes, the name changed. Distress warrants no longer exist.

Thanks

When I asked for a copy of the warrant, the fines office sent me a doctored distress warrant that was issued over 10 years ago , when i questioned it they started back tracking saying it was out of courtesy ? and that they know they are no longer used. When I asked if they were also Marston employees they stopped talking to me.

Bailiff companies absolutely have the ear of HMCTS staff - they swallow every word.

That's confirmed.

But the power is similar. Marston used to have a fad of showing counterfeit warrants to exaggerate the enforcement power for unpaid court fines, but with the efforts of members of this board, we successfully put an end it it.

They work from their own premises at: Kestrel House, Falconry Court, Baker Lane, Epping, CM16 5DQ. If you turn up there, staff will call the police. In late 2017, they did that to a TV crew who had questions.
