paying at year end
paying at year end
Is there any law that says I have to pay my council tax monthly or in advance ? I'm just thinking why can't I just pay it all at the end of the year on march 31st ? Then I could get 12 month interest on it. I know that if I miss a couple of payments they will issue a summons but is it legally due before the year end ? Could I go to court, if summoned, and simply say to the judge I intend to pay it all before the end of the tax year ?

Re: paying at year end
It's a good question but LAs want things done THEIR way.
So I don't. They want DD payments. I pay by standing order.
I once paid the full year upfront the same day the bill came in. I still got 3 letters and 2 texts telling me I had missed a DD for April, May and June. Abolish this stupid tax and abolish the useless, incompetent councils, and jail the grafters, embezzlers and paedophiles who infest our town halls.
