The number you have given is the Historic Debts team, and you most likely have an unpaid court fine that has been lost in the post.

You can pay a court fine without giving your address but you need to ask them to email you some evidence of the fine and the fine amount.

If you don't recognise anything about the fine or the conviction, then do a Section 14.

The snag is you have to give photo ID to a solicitor to swear in a Section 14, which means your address becomes known, and the court may re-summon you and you will have to defend the allegation or pay the fine. http://www.nationalbailiffadvice.uk/Cou ... ation.html

I am not aware of one, Schedule 12 actually dealt with bailiffs on my behalf about a court fine about a year ago and they kept on moaning about £25 which had already been settled.

If it's an Email it's probably phishing. Check the headers this should reveal the real sender. We've geta few a work ever so often with other phishing emails.
